…Instagram style.
The bank holiday started with Greg’s birthday on Friday. He asked for homemade pizza for dinner.
And lemon cake for dessert. Unfortunately I don’t own round cake tins (crazy, right?) so cupcakes had to do. And they were great. Not having two cakes to layer the lemon curd in between I just put a dollop of it in the cupcake! Made for moist and delicious cupcakes. And the candied lemon slices were to die for. I simmered the lemon slices in sugar water and used the leftover sugar water for sweet iced tea. Booyah!
Luckily I was able to burn off the pizza and cupcake after a taking our guests on an evening tour of Southbank…
Followed that with a Jack of the Ripper tour in East London.
Sunday we all headed to the Changing of the Guards ceremony at Buckingham Palace…
And finished the afternoon at Bea’s of Bloomsbury for afternoon tea.
On Bank Holiday, G stayed home and I went to the V&A with my friend Liz, in search of some historic fashions. And boy they were hard to find. I think someone can easily do a scavenger hunt at the V&A. I forget that place is HUGE!
I love when friends come to visit and remind you how fortunate you are to be surrounded by so many wonderful places. Good times, great friends, amazing weekend.
